I was browsing through the .PSD resources here on DA to see what had people had come up with in developing the iPhone 4. I was amazed and disappointed to find they are all about the same. I'm not sure where these templates are getting their resource image from but I can definitely tell it's from one source.

Not to mention that I've gone through all of these .PSD's in Photoshop to find some authors using each others layers. Reasons I can tell their all from the same source, all of them have about the same (RoC) Radius of Curve, which is way off of iPhone spec. All of them have their reflection and sheen in the same direction and all of have accept for one, have no screen border. Most of these .PSD's just use a screen shot of the original source instead of separate screen layer elements. Come on guys, be original!

Hit me up with a comment and tell me how you feel.
Sorry if I singled folks out. Some of which I watch, watch me and am friends with. Your work to get them in your own order and style was amazing. The amount of replicas just astounds me.
they just changing the background xD
As for why many are very similar, most are modeled after the official press image, which makes sense as people are probably more familiar with it. Besides, that allows their radius of the rounded corners to be accurate - heck, in your PSD, you used the same radius for the inner mask as in the outer mask while it should be a bit smaller.
You don't know how much of a perfectionist I am, and want to make things look as natural as possible, but not different for no reason. That's why I spent more time on adjusting values and colors than anything else, and use press images rather than other PSDs for reference. In other words, no, I haven't used any layers from other people.
The official press image [link] should and does look exactly the same as the majority of these .PSD's. Some how, it doesn't look right, like it's been warped. Looking at it from another angle [link] it looks slightly different? Maybe my conversion for RoC was wrong? The inner radius should be the same, just closer when straightening out the next side, shouldn't it? Out of all the .PSD's I looked at, yours is the first and my favorite. I knew you'd respond. I may have been off on layer uses between .PSD's as users were just trying to go with the same look.
For press images, always look in the About/Info/PR section, where you'll find higher-res images. I used the one from this page, and based my proportions on it (except for the placement of the screen, but I'm going to change that); if the official press image doesn't get the size right, I don't know who will.
Think of a rounded rectangle as a circle. If there is a 100px wide outer circle and a 60px wide inner circle, the radius would have to decrease by half of the 40px difference, from 50px to 30px. Now, say you have a rounded rectangle with a width of 100px and radius of 32px, and want to put a 80px wide one inside it; the radius would have to shrink to 32px-(100px-80px)/2 = 22px. Hope that's understandable
When i make my .PSD's I try to make the screen as well, Heck i even make my own Wallpaper.
BTW, Just need to ask, Where can I find the RoC For Phones (I usually am way off when i make my PSD's)
